Friday morning, 6am, tragedy strikes... Eviction.
Well, not exactly, but I was told to be out of the hotel by Monday. In short, the Navy is coming in next week and since we're kind of landlocked, they need a place to stay. At this point, nothing really surprises me.
Luckily, Becca has a good friend from work who we're staying with for these last five weeks. It's about 15 miles from the hospital in a charming little village. The house is beautiful and spacious, clean sheets and a sauna. Life is good.
We've made quick friends with the neighbors, two little girls. The nine year old and I were up 'till eleven last night playing backgammon. It feels a little more like home, a little less like a claustrophobic hotel room.
We checked out the farmers market this morning in Kaiserslautern, picked up some fresh veggies and pasta, some flowers and coffee. Nice morning and now I'm an hour into Rent, thinking of the time Nikki, Linzee, Kim and I saw the premier in Sugarland during Christmas.
Tomorrow we'll be on another climbing trip on some cliffs near the castle... Pics to come.
Carol and Becca at the cathedral this morning--it's finally getting cold!
