Turkey Dinner

Tonight at dinner I discussed the Iraq situation with a group of Turks. Once I got over the initial fear of them putting a knife in my (stuffed with Tortellini al Forno) stomach, I realized what a warm and thoughtful group of people they were. One, meet eighty. (How 'bout them apples Myles?)

Key point of the night, which I stressed over and over, is the difference between interests and principles. In the case of the US foriegn policy, the former casts a looming shadow over the latter. Our country was built on beautiful principles, our way of life sustained by interests. Rock, meet hard place. (Now I'm just sorry Myles)

Anyways, let's thank our lucky stars I will only dip my conservative toes in the caustic quick sand of politics. Afterall, William F. Buckley and Chomsky were flings at best in my sophomore year. Now I'm just a misanthrope.

Such, meet is life.

Nikki,
I knoooow! Crazy, right? Just make sure you really drive the point home--the point being interests, in our current society and international interests, come before priniples. That's my take anyways. I could be wrong. I've been wrong before.

Moriah,
LOL! Yeah, I need to photoshop that pic or something. Is there, like, a date set for you and Matty yet? Ah, I miss Moriahy and Matty.
Your buddy,
Michael
