Comfortable. Almost Anyways.

DSCF0338

So guess who’s the newest licensed driver in Europe?? As Nikki would say, “Mmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!” (I know, I know, I’ve really got to stop stealing… But as they say, “Good artists borrow-Great artists steal”)

So now I need some wheels. Hopefully four of them that enjoy moving from point A (read: my hotel) to B (read: the library). Essentially I’m going to pay around a thousand bucks to make my semi-daily journey to the library three minutes quicker. Oh, and the skate park… I’ve got a board coming in special from West Cali. This is good news for me as well as my medical provider.

**

The weather here hovers just above 60 degrees, the sun shines on and on. They say summers here are quite wonderful, with long lazy days full of sunshine lasting until past 10pm. That’s right--it’s sunny when you go to sleep and when you wake up.

Today as I was walking home from the library, my backpack full of FIVE Gabriel Garcia-Marquez books (I hit the mother load--by summers end I plan to have read his entire collection), the sun shining on my face, my legs still tired from playing soccer with the local high-school team an hour earlier, I thought to myself, I could really get used to this place.

But then it hit me--I already have. Now I just need my wife and friends here and I’m golden.

Until then I’ve got a shelf full of Columbia’s finest writer and a southerly breeze that carries the birds melodies into my room. Did I mention I’m getting paid a ridiculous amount of money for being here?
