I've Got Soul but I'm Not a Soldier

The hopstial is out of control. Imagine if every mother's child
wandered off on tax free weekend at the San Marcos Outlet Mall and
you'll have a vague idea. Now add in the myriad languages you hear at
any given hour, the strange German guards who love bad American pop
music, and sporadic celebrity sightings. Don't stir, but shake
vigorously for 20 seconds and you have my life, for 12 hours a day,
M-F.

For example, my sponsor who is showing me the ropes (read: putting up
with my lame questions which range from "when will I see some
celebrities? to "how can I have soul but not be a soldier?" to
"REALLY, when WILL I see some celebrities?") told me about meeting
Jessica Simpson a couple weeks ago. He said she had acne, which made
me upset because she looks great in the Pro-Active commercials. I
wonder if, like bad fashion can sometimes be good fashion (i.e. the
80's), one day bad skin will be good skin?

I'm in the middle of one of the most
amazing/traumatic/challenging/rewarding experiences of my life and I'm
writing tired jokes about a pop diva's complexion. Welcome to The
Daily Rice.

Options for the weekend:

-10 Castle tour around the Rhine River
-Brussels trip
-Frankfurt
-Visit Roman ruins
-Stay at hospital all weekend in hopes of sighting a celebrity

You do have soul - that's for sure! And, no, bad skin will never be good skin. Trust me on this one.

Yo hipster,

If you see Bono from U2 you have to try and get an autograph. I hear he does a lot of charity events for people in need, so maybe he'll come by the hospital.. you NEVER know.

sean,
I think bono, in all his glory, confines his travels to mostly Africa. Europe is much too prosperous for him to come sing his hit song, Have a Nice Day. Wait, is that U2? Maybe I'm thinking of Jon Bon Jovi... We might, however, see Sean Penn again "assesing the war situation."

I've still got soul. Sean, you should come visit.

"It's all about soul... Who's standing now, who's standing tomorrow..." -Billy Joel

And U2's song is "It's a Beautiful Day." But you, dear Michael, have a nice day!!
