Random photo--I miss those days...
I know I promised news about this past weekend and my travels in Trier but my pictures are acting up, so I'll wait.

While I have no interest whatsoever visiting France, outside of the Luv and Eifel tower, my Dad emailed me some advice about how to compose myself in the City of Light, and I think he's hit the nail on the head...
Michael,
I have a theory I'd like you to check out for me when you visit France for the first time. Upon entering the country, adopt a bad french accent, Inspector Clouseau style. I honestly believe that the French speak English so poorly that you could pass as French. Be sure to wear clothes that you've worn at least a half dozen times without washing them and literally dunk them in cologne before you put them on.
As for attitude, release completly any concern you have for anything other than wine and crepes. More specifically, if you happen to catch on fire while traveling in France, intentionally wait to notice until someone else points it out, pretend not to hear them, then casually toss a tiny cup of espresso on the flames. I feel sure that this will work-let me know how it goes.
By the way, let me know how it went in the OR.
Dad
