Houston Hit Hard

The following is an email that I actually received from three different people. I apologize if it offends anyone from Houston or who has been affected by the hurricane. Again, the Daily Rice accepts full responsibility (read: no responsibility) for the content found on this site.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With all the news lately about Hurricane Katrina, we shouldn't forget
that Houston has had its share of devastating weather also.

The attached photo illustrates the damage caused to a home when
Hurricane Rita passed through the Houston area a couple of days ago. It
really makes a person cherish what they have, and reminds us not to take
life for granted!!!

Warning: The picture below is quite graphic and may not be suitable
for younger viewers.

Professor......
shame on you....
True, Rita was the "bad sequel" of hurricane Katrina, but sweetie, Rita ripped the but hole right out Lake Charles and Beaumont. For your penance and to ensure that you do not have a place directly next to Lucifer in the fires of hell, I think you should go over there and hand out water bottles.

Also this was pretty funny.
See you at drill, where I am sure to fail my run.

...and all the Houstonians said, "Hallelujah!"

3am! Bonnie, get some sleep! You're sleeping like a college student, which is never good news in general. I can't WAIT for drill. Ohmygod I hate going to drill. Sighs.........

And DB is right. My roommates went to walmart at 3am all freaked out and bought enough food to last till the 22nd century anno domini. sighs, again.....

true, people really were scared. HEB was ransacked for water and bread. but i guess the saying, "it's better to be safe than to be sorry" is true. and in the case of possible hurricane, i think people reacted as they should have reacted, and hindsight is always 20/20.

I think Sean is right... Smart people are always prepared.

An ounce of preparation is worth a pound of... damn, I forgot the ending.
