Summer Dance Party: Drop It and Pop It

I’ll preface the following montage, which soars to new heights in the sky of absurdities, by simply stating that dance parties are completely detached from any sense of reality whatsoever. For example, in what other setting would Lindsey Mikka, a normally quiet and self proclaimed awkward girl, tie a checkered scarf around her head and point at a glass of water on the rocks like it was gin and juice? And how else would I carelessly abandon my firm policy of no ass shaking at any time whatsoever to desperately try to learn how to “drop it and pop it”?

Sigh. The glamorous life of 20-something, too white for our own good college students, getting back in touch with our ghetto fabulousness to the beats of Outkast, Nelly, and Jay-Z. Which is to say it was the MOST FUN I'VE HAD IN A WHILE. Get ready for the Parish 80's Dance Party when school starts next month...

For full experience, put on some old school rap, grab yourself a forty, and watch the slideshow here!!

Or just start scrolling down, and watch as an all-American college student barbaque quickly devolves into a ghetto dance party...

hehehe.... i loved the pictures... I have also been having random dance parties with some friends recently. They're pretty sweet. I'm preparing myself for some San Marcos dance parties. (By dancing in front of a mirror at my house when no one's around to the XM radio.) Sorry, long comment... you want to come to a spoken word event on thurs?

I'm thinking it was gin!

Is it just me, or does everyone in these pics have blue eyes? We must guard ourselves against this supperior race ruling our streets with its gin and ghetto dancing.

Wow...Sean's looking good...I mean really good...Hey everyone, come see how good he looks.

Dude. I'm so there for the 80's dance party at the parrish. Even if I was still in L.A. I would consider flying out there for the night just to go.

p.s....the chances of me living within walking distance of campus in San Marcos when I get back to Texas are pretty high...so I will be a visable and productive member of the community again after my prodigal excursion of living in the magificant city of Austin. However, I will still be employed there, so I will still be there a lot as a consequence.

For all of us here in the studio; I'm Jordan Stweart. Goodnight, from Los Angeles.

Oh boy... where to start.

Dan, great comment. Blue eyes are the ONLY way to go my friend. And by blue eyes I mean blue eyes with a brown spot. Be ready on the 14th!

Jordan, I heard you got cu-razy at the last dance party. That will be sweet, and I'll pay for half the plane ticket. Natrually.

Moriah, I'm going to New Orleans but would come in a heart beat. The fall will have lots of time... I've been practicing in front of the mirror too. Like all the time.

Kelly, we've missed each other again. But I still read your blog. That has to count for something.

Sean, You didn't comment but you're pictures are looking really good. Really. Good.

Nikki, Come back and visit! Oh wait... Read email about Big Bend. We ARE going out to those mountains. No matter what.

Dropping it like its hot,
MWR

Well, I'm really embarrassed by looking at these pictures...but not nearly as embarrassed as you and Sean should be. Keep it up.

I swear I left a lengthy comment, but apparently it didn't make it in.

Well the overall point of my comment was to get anyone reading this to look at my left-most finger on the picture of me with my hands out, and a scarf tied between my shirt. My finger looks broken. Sweet action. Thats all I had to say.

And to Lindsay, I say.. if you got it, flaunt it. or something like that. :)

Sean,
Yeah your finger does look disfigured but I think it's the resizing of the photo for the blog. Good call though. It's broken because you were being so aweseome. Coolness=randomly broken bones.
Lindzzzay did something. It was sweet.
