There have been requests to write more theological posts, which I’m still getting a feel for honestly. Anyways, that task usually falls under Myles’ expertise… He probably doesn’t even know I exist yet daily I read his words and am moved… Anyways, the point of the Daily Rice is obviously to make Everyone happy, so I’ll oblige...
The space between heaven and earth is vast, in the midst of which we are granted freedom. Human affairs fill our days, our years, indeed our lives, all beautifully and deceptively different. It’s only in love, our pursuit, desire, creation, destruction even, that we find a common pulse crawling through our veins.
For the longest time I thought God was far away, out of reach, a voyeur resting comfortably on the opposite end of that apparent abyss. Time pressed on, as it gently yet forcefully does, and love, like water that freezes between the cracks, began to break apart the rocks inside of me. I saw that God is closer, waiting in the midst of that open space, perhaps willing to meet us half way.
But then, springing from a place not of this world, grace began to flow through, washing the rocky remnants away, and with clear eyes I saw what was in front of me all along: God is in everything. From the flowers that grow in the cracks of sidewalks, to the laughter of children on playgrounds, to the shafts of sunlight shattered by tree branches. God's love fills the space between heaven and earth.
Every breath holds infinite possibility, every instant immense freedom, while the numbered beat of our hearts pulls us back to where we began.

The last line is beautiful. I can't wait till you write a book some day and people quote you when they run out of good verses to use from the Bible....ha
