Dearest Dears,
As it turns out, I felt very uncomfortable answering some of these questions. Some of the questions raised simply are not ones that can be adequately satisfied in a sentence or two. But they are able to provide a thumbnail of knowledge which will perhaps offer some insight as to just what it is that makes us tick. So, I'll leave it at that and post my personal responses. Now, kindly join me, Inside the Blogger's Studio:
-What would be your most desired profession, if time, money, and talent were no object?
Celebrity chef. I HATE reality TV, but I did watch a few episodes of “The Restaurant” and found Rocco to be my hero. Even though I’ve only seen him on TV, he’s pretty much my best friend.
-What sound or noise do you love?
Acoustic guitars are always nice. But I do love the sound of my brothers playing and laughing. My brother John Michael says “Pikachooooo!” which is too funny. I’m not sure, but I think Pikachoo is a Pokeman or something.
-If heaven does indeed exist, what would you like God to say when you arrive at the pearly gates?
“Let me explain.”
-What are you afraid of?
I’m afraid of not finding that one special person who will give to me all the love I give to them.
-Besides your parents, who has helped you the most in your life?
I’ve had many wonderful teachers/professors who I owe a lot to. In a lot of ways, my friend Sarah helped me a lot just by being there for me during one of the hardest times in my life. Also, my big brother Ed (see picture above) has done wonders for me in terms of showing me how much happiness knowledge can bring to your life. Ed has is up there in my list of "intellectual giants"
-Which of the seven deadly sins, pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, greed and sloth, are you most guilty of?
It’s close. If there was a photo finish, I’d say lust would edge out pride by a hair.
-Where do you feel safest?
Around my friends and family. Or when reading a book.
-Are you absolutely sure of your beliefs, in regards to the world and how you live?
No. I feel I have a long ways to go in not only formulating a concrete set of morals, values, and beliefs, not to mention actually living by them. But it is something I work on everyday, and I feel that I’m getting closer.
-What is your favorite curse word?
Is “blimey” a curse word? When I am with fellow cursers, I really let them all fly out, although I have no trouble whatsoever not using them when I’m around those who don’t. I do admire the versatility of the F word very much. It’s like one of those pocket knives that can be used for a hundred different things.
-What turns you off the most?
Ignorance.
-If you could build anything, what would it be?
Some sort of futuristic device that would allow me to satisfy my vainglorious urges to write nonsensical dribble and post them on some sort of machine that would allow everyone to read them. Then I would do it everyday, thinking it’s very important and worthy of everyone’s time. Oh wait, that’s called Blogging. I’m guess I’m good then.
-If you could change any one thing about yourself, what would it be?
It would be nice to be less selfish, meaning to have things that concern me more than my time. Also, I think it is a shame how little the majority of Americans (myself included) know about the history of their heritage and ethnicity. I've come to hate the gelatinously encompassing term "WASP" and wish to rebuke my association with it by embracing my Irish and Scottish heritage. As C.S. Lewis, a fellow Irishman said,
"Like all Irish people who meet in England we ended by criticisms on the invincible flippancy and dulness of the Anglo-Saxon race. After all, there is no doubt, ami, that the Irish are the only people: with all their faults I would not gladly live or die among another folk."
-If you had to change one past event of your life, what would it be?
I wish I had not treated girlfriends so poorly. But it has brought me to a point where I know the effects of such actions, and I can use that knowledge to make sure the one I end up with is very happy.
-What do you feel is your strongest attribute?
The ability to pick things up (sports, knowledge, instruments) up very quickly.
-What do you look for most in a potential husband/wife?
Morals, values, intelligence, and someone who calms me.
-If you could have lunch with anyone person, living or dead, real or fictitious, who would it be and why?
Leonardo Da Vinci. He seems to be the closest any man has come to pure genius. And perhaps a few girls who slipped away. NOT JUDE LAW!
-If 100 people your age were chosen at random, how many do you think would be leading a life more satisfying than yours?
That’s a hard question, and I’m wishing I had not asked it. But, if I limited the scope of those chosen to people in the US, I would imagine not many. But I could be wrong. I’ve been wrong before.
-Finally, if you were to describe your existence in one all encompassing word, what would it be?
Seeker.
-Finally (really this time), what is your favorite word?
Junta. “Mr. Glass.” Skallywag. Ennui. Coup de ta. Eeek. Yikes. Yowsa. Thrice. Unbeknownst. Love.
