All,
I fear I will not have adequate time later this evening to create a sufficent post, and Í know the happiness of your day may indeed be contingent on my posting. To blog or not to blog, That is the question. Ah, how times have changed :)
Anyways, not much to say except that school is burying me alive. Once again, I have to say, Spanish is still my achilles heel. The work just continues to amass and there is little I can do but redouble my efforts. But as they say, there is only one way to eat an elephant, and that is one bite at a time.
I am attending a lecture in a few minutes on the Anatomy of Hatred, which promises to yield some material for tomorrows blog perhaps. The Philosophy Department is sponsoring a semester long seminar (open to all students) focusing on hate and alienation. Although it is not the cheeriest if topics, it is certainly interesting (that is often the case for some peculiar reason). My philosophy teacher offers a half point of extra credit for each lecture we attend, so I'm doing my best to make it to as many as possible. Philosophy is also referred to as the "Queen of the Sciences" but I prefer to call it the "Queen of my headaches". I'm kidding, but really, have you ever tried to read Sartre's Being and Nothingness: An Onological Approach to Phenomenology? It takes about 15 minutes to read and digest a single page. I believe someone put it best when they said (of philosophy) "Western philosophy is nothing more than a series of footnotes to Plato."
So I'll leave it at that for now. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have more time and perhaps some insight on the Anatomy of Hatred, since I know you all are so interested in that one!
Quote for the day:
America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between. (Oscar Wilde)
Until next time, I remain, sticking with English as my primary language,
